Certificated Palaeoquest courses

 

Three courses each leading to separate certificates of expertise.

Completion of these courses is required for employment as a Palaeoquest instructor.

1) Basic level (Skills required for Summer/Autumn)
Includes safety, water, food and storage, shelters, basic tools and fire-mastering. Woodland environment.

2) Advanced level (Skills required for Autumn/Winter)
As above but in more depth, plus advanced tools, hunting systems, working with the environment and preparation for winter and spring.

Grassland, heath, gully etc. environments.

3) Expert level (Skills required for Winter/Spring)
As above in greater depth, plus medicines, famine survival, expert tool-making. Tools include nets, traps, harpoons, dams, bows etc. Also includes social survival systems, tanning hides and making all-weather clothing.

Seashore and all other environments listed..

4) Refresher and skills/knowledge development:

    for post-Expert level students

(Groups)

Levels 1-3 each involve:

• Four days tuition, split into two day courses (e.g. two weekends)
• Private study and development between courses.
• Assessment, by instructors at the end of each course.

Cost of courses
It is cheaper to share the costs with others. Please note that 10 people is the maximum.
Each 4-day course = £400:00 per day for up to 10 people
                                  £400:00 per day for 1 person
